Our Story

to produce billions of dollars in health and wellbeing for the future of Fresno and our Valley.
The Better Blackstone Design Challenge is a collaborative urban design project for developing Fresno’s Blackstone Avenue

Activity Centers Reimagined
Shaw Activity Center
The Shaw Activity Center, located between Barstow and Santa Ana Avenues along Blackstone, is anchored by the 2nd busiest intersection in Fresno, multiple commercial uses with extraordinarily large parking lots, and the unique development opportunity suggested by 23 acres of prime mixed-use zoned vacant land located proximate to the intersection.
Olive Activity Center
The Olive Activity Center, located between Hedges Avenue and FWY 180, is anchored by Susan B. Anthony Elementary School and functions as the eastern gateway to the historic Tower District and a northern gateway to the downtown area at Divisadero Street.
Shields Activity Center
The Shields Activity Center, located between Dakota and Clinton Avenues, is anchored by the Manchester Shopping Center, an older enclosed regional mall that is now undergoing comprehensive renovation and revitalization by owner OMNINET.
Weldon Activity Center
The Weldon Activity Center, located between Clinton and Hedges Avenues, is anchored by California’s oldest community college, Fresno City College, which is now constructing over $150 million in new campus buildings located along Blackstone, and working collaboratively to meet the locally unmet housing, shopping, entertainment, and employment needs of 35,000 students who attend classes there each week.
